REACH Community Development - Energy Audits
REACH Community Development, Inc is a non-profit owner and manager of quality affordable housing in Portland, Oregon. In 2009, Stewards of Affordable Housing for the Future (SAHF) and Bright Power won a competitive solicitation to help analyze and incorporate energy efficient practices and renewable technologies into REACH’s existing multifamily building portfolio.
Bright Power performed energy audits of 7 multifamily building properties with a total of 384 units. The audits encompassed the “full building” energy analysis perspective, and analyzed all of the building energy systems to identify cost-effective energy-saving retrofits. Bright Power worked to identify local incentive programs to help fund the recommendations.
Energy-saving opportunities included all building systems, including envelope improvements, lighting retrofits, heating, cooling and domestic hot water efficiency improvements, and appliance replacements.
