Bright Power Presents at 2012 PNRC-NAHRO Annual Conference

NEWS

Jon Braman, VP of Portfolio Solutions, will present a session on benchmarking for Public Housing Authorities (PHA’s). Benchmarking has recently become a hot topic at HUD’s Office of Public and Indian Housing and both HUD and PHAs are now beginning to realize that energy benchmarking is an important cost effective management tool in helping agencies better manage their energy consumption and maximize their energy savings.

2012 PNRC-NAHRO Annual Conference (April 30 – May 1, 2012)

(DoubleTree Hotel – Lloyd Center, Portland, OR)

The purpose of the National Association of Housing and Redevelopment Officials (NAHRO) is to be the leading housing and community development advocate for the provision of adequate and affordable housing and strong, viable communities for all Americans, particularly those with low- and moderate-incomes, and to enhance the professional development and effectiveness of NAHRO’s members. The Pacific Northwest Regional Council returns to Portland, OR for its 2012 Annual Conference, “A Place to Call Home” in recognition of the importance of “home” in the lives of our clients and of the role that our members play in addressing that need.

Energy and water are the fastest growing costs affecting PHAs today. Benchmarking gives PHAs the ability to monitor and compare their energy and water usage by building, better manage their utility consumption and help agencies to make better strategic decisions on what energy and water improvements to make.

This session will bring you up to date on HUD’s thinking about energy benchmarking and will demonstrate how energy benchmarking works.
