Vital Brookdale, located in Brownsville, Brooklyn, represents a pioneering approach to addressing housing disparities and promoting sustainability in Central Brooklyn. This 7-story, 160-unit Phius+ 2015 residential building provides its low-income population with verified thermal comfort, superior air quality, and deep energy savings through a highly efficient envelope and mechanical systems, supplemented by on-site generation technology. The building was designed to ensure efficient temperature regulation throughout the year to promote passive resiliency while operating at a low heating and cooling demand.

505 State Street is New York City’s first all-electric skyscraper. Standing 44-stories tall, this building is a mixed use tower with 400 market rate homes, 40 affordable homes, and additional retail spaces in Downtown Brooklyn.

50 Penn is a high-quality mixed-use, sustainable, and 100% affordable housing complex in the Cypress Hills neighborhood of Brooklyn complete with access to healthy food choices for residents. Located within a recently rezoned area of East New York, the new building includes 218 apartments designed for multifamily occupancy, with green features including a solar photovoltaic installation. 42 of the new apartments are dedicated to formerly homeless and elderly households and 100% of all units are permanently affordable.

Intercontinental partnered with Bright Power to conduct an energy audit to create a comprehensive list of energy efficiency upgrades and opportunities for savings.

Bright Power worked with Fairfield Residential’s other service providers to include their existing scopes into a larger set of upgrades that would meet the incentive program’s savings requirements.

Bright Power recommended a set of holistic energy improvements, which were identified in the energy audit, giving St. Margaret’s House a roadmap to address their building’s underperformance and heating distribution issues.
