The development team desired to incorporate several different high-performance systems and sustainability initiatives across many sites. It represents one of the most significant urban renewal projects in New York City history. Beginning in 2015, completion of the residential portion of the project is set to be completed in 2024.

Bright Power worked with RDC Development, a professional partnership between MDG Design + Construction, LLC and Wavecrest Management, to develop and install the energy and water efficiency measures and solar PV.

Community Access worked with Bright Power to install our Resilient Power Hub (RPH)—a combination of 53 kW solar PV, 18 kW battery storage, and 10 kW cogeneration unit—to operate efficiently with site security.

Bright Power worked with Hudson Companies in designing a building that achieved ENERGY STAR certification, which resulted in a 26% improvement from code. By building to Enterprise Green Communities standards, Dumont Green boasts lower utility costs, a healthier living environment for its residents, and increased sustainability.

Designing a cascading solar PV system across the top and down the facade of Via Verde enabled the panels to appear vertical without sacrificing their efficiency.

Bright Power worked with the owner and the design team to integrate energy efficiency and solar energy into the building's plans from the start. The most notable features include a high efficiency condensing boiler plant that will provide hot water and heat to the building at a combustion efficiency of over 90% and a 114 kW solar PV system.
