Special program for supportive and affordable housing
Energy costs are one of the largest building operating expenses for the affordable and supportive housing community. Harsh winters and volatile energy markets conspire to threaten the financial stability of buildings that operate on extremely thin margins.
The Bulk Energy Procurement Initiative (BEPI) is an electric and natural gas supply aggregation program designed for supportive and affordable housing building owners throughout New York State. BEPI, a two-year pilot underwritten by grants from the JPM Chase Foundation and the Booth Ferris Foundation, is a collaboration between Housing and Services, Inc., a non-profit supportive housing provider, and Bright Power.
BEPI joins supportive and affordable building owners into a pool that dramatically increases their buying power. We manage the bid process and ensure that BEPI members get the lowest possible gas and electric prices from New York suppliers.
